Pax Autocratica Wiki
Most Pax Autocratica guide pages published so far were written by people who have never launched the game. Several describe turn limits, tax sliders and cabinet politics — mechanics this game does not have. It is a colony sim welded to a first-person roguelite shooter, not a political strategy title.
This wiki takes the opposite approach. Every mechanic below is drawn from Multiverse’s own published descriptions and from the free Prologue that has been playable since December 2025. Where Multiverse has not announced something, the page says so instead of filling the gap.
Start here: the guide hub explains how the three layers fit together. The Prologue page covers the free version everyone is asking about. Citizen management and rebellions cover the systems people get most wrong.
What Pax Autocratica Is
Section titled “What Pax Autocratica Is”Pax Autocratica is a darkly satirical totalitarian colony sim and FPS roguelite hybrid set in a sci-fi dystopian world. Multiverse describes it as a game about power — how it is built, how it corrupts, and how it consumes.
The loop has three layers that feed each other:
- Build a totalitarian state. Turn a handful of survivors into a large, tightly run, self-sustaining colony.
- Shape the people inside it. Rule through fear, propaganda, surveillance and punishment, or through comfort and prosperity.
- Go fight for it yourself. Drop into first-person roguelite battles beside your own troops, from desperate skirmishes up to large-scale mechanised war.
Who Is Making It
Section titled “Who Is Making It”Pax Autocratica is developed and published by Multiverse. The Steam App ID is 1067360, and the game is confirmed for Windows only — macOS and Linux are both listed as unsupported. Supported languages are English (with full audio), Simplified Chinese, French and German.
Genre Tags and Confirmed Features
Section titled “Genre Tags and Confirmed Features”Steam tags the game as Action, Indie, Simulation and Early Access. Confirmed store features include full controller support, DualShock and DualSense support, adjustable difficulty, save anytime, Steam Cloud and Family Sharing.
Release Date and Price Status
Section titled “Release Date and Price Status”Pax Autocratica enters Steam Early Access on August 10, 2026. This is the single most searched fact about the game right now, and it is officially listed.
The price is not announced by Multiverse. The Steam page currently shows no price. Any article quoting an exact figure is inventing it — see the price page for why that matters and what to watch for. For the full launch picture, see the release date page.
The Free Prologue Is the Real Story
Section titled “The Free Prologue Is the Real Story”The question is Pax Autocratica free has a more interesting answer than most sites give.
The full game is paid. But Pax Autocratica: Prologue is a completely free, stand-alone release that has been on Steam since December 1, 2025. You do not need to own the full game, and it is not a timed demo. It currently sits at 144 user reviews with a Steam rating of Very Positive (118 positive, 26 negative).
That means the core systems described on this wiki are not pre-release speculation — they are playable today. The Prologue guide covers what is in it, and Prologue vs Early Access covers exactly what Multiverse says is missing from it.
Core Mechanics
Section titled “Core Mechanics”These are the systems the game is actually built on. Each has its own page.
Citizens: Fear or Comfort
Section titled “Citizens: Fear or Comfort”You mould citizens through fear, propaganda, surveillance and punishment, or rule as a benevolent leader through comfort and prosperity. While they work for the State they may grow grateful, afraid, loyal, or quietly rebellious. Multiverse’s own phrasing is that dissent accumulates until dissent becomes revolt. Full breakdown on the citizen management page.
Rebellion
Section titled “Rebellion”Because unrest escalates rather than triggering instantly, “how do I stop a rebellion” is the question new players hit first. The rebellion page explains what the game actually confirms about that escalation — and flags the invented numbers other sites publish.
Prisoners and Conversion
Section titled “Prisoners and Conversion”Weakened enemies can be captured and dragged back to your base. Behind prison doors, resistance can be broken through fear, indoctrination, execution or conversion — until an enemy becomes a citizen, a warning to would-be rebels, or another tool of the regime. See prisoners and conversion.
The Colony Economy
Section titled “The Colony Economy”Citizens can be assigned to mine, gather, haul, research and manufacture weapons, armour, food and supplies. See colony building and jobs.
Combat and Cores
Section titled “Combat and Cores”Combat is a first-person roguelite. You fight alongside your own troops against infantry, tanks and mechs, with bullets, lasers, missiles, drones, artillery and overlapping projectile patterns filling the screen.
The progression system inside each run is cores, collected during expeditions:
- Weapon Cores reshape how your guns handle.
- Combination Cores create synergies between different core sets.
- Other cores strengthen the troops fighting beside you — or turn them into sacrificial shields for your own survival.
The cores page covers the confirmed system, and the Sector Overlords page covers the elite enemies and bosses. The combat hub ties both together.
Exploration: The Tyris System
Section titled “Exploration: The Tyris System”Expeditions take you into the fractured territories of the Tyris System to gather resources, conscript new citizens, trade with wandering merchants and feed your colony’s growth. The Prologue covers the first sector, Elysia. See the Tyris System page and the exploration hub.
Single-Player Only
Section titled “Single-Player Only”The Steam store page lists Single-player and nothing else. There is no co-op category, no multiplayer category, and no announcement of either. Guides that describe playing with friends are guessing. The multiplayer page documents exactly what the store lists.
PC Requirements
Section titled “PC Requirements”Both the full game and the Prologue list the same specs. The minimum is Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel i5-8600 or Ryzen 5 1600x, 16 GB RAM, a GTX 1060 6G or RX 480 for 1080p, DirectX 11 and 40 GB of storage. Full minimum and recommended tables are on the system requirements page.
How This Wiki Handles Unknowns
Section titled “How This Wiki Handles Unknowns”The rule is simple: if Multiverse has published it, it goes in. If not, the page says “not announced by Multiverse” rather than inventing an answer.
That currently applies to the price, Early Access duration, achievements, console commands, mod support, console or Steam Deck versions, and every specific number — loyalty thresholds, rebellion triggers, how many cores exist, how many Sector Overlords exist, and how many sectors there are. None of that is public, so none of it appears here as fact.
